November 15, 2021 - Due to recent heavy rain and flooding, Hammond Road and Albertan Street as well as Airport Way near Southgate Road are closed. There is no access to the Golden Ears Bridge or into Pitt Meadows via Hammond Road or Airport Way. Please use alternative routes during this time.
Residents can anticipate additional road closures due to flooding particularly on Sheridan Drive and Wooldridge Road. All pump stations are working at full capacity.
The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a Flood Watch for the Fraser River and its tributaries. A Flood Watch means that river levels are rising and will approach or may exceed river banks. Flooding of areas adjacent to affected rivers may occur. Water levels in the ditches throughout Pitt Meadows are expected to rise quickly.
Residents are reminded to use caution on all roads, sidewalks, trails and parks. Keep pets and children away from the banks of the river or streams.
This afternoon, 70-90 km/hour winds are in the forecast. Prepare for potential power outages.
To report an issue please call 604-465-2434.
