December 12, 2024 (12:45 p.m.) - There are a number of power outages—including intersections impacted and trees down on roadways—due to strong winds in Pitt Meadows. Our City crews are working hard to respond to current problem areas. See updates below:

  • The intersection at Kennedy Road and Wooldridge Road is currently closed (no through traffic), due to a tree down. BC Hydro has been notified, but no ETA for re-opening at this time.
  • The intersection at Bonson Road and Hammond Road currently has no power. Please use the 4-way stop procedure if driving in the area.
  • FYI: Meadowtown Shopping Centre is currently closed due to power outages.

Please use caution and care when out and about, as conditions may change/worsen with strong winds. Rain is also in the forecast. A friendly reminder during storm season, to follow these tips:

  • Stay safe: look for downed power lines and keep a safe distance. Please report power outages directly to BC Hydro at bchydro.com/outages.
  • Keep calm and patient in the event of a power outage: there are likely multiple houses needing help.
  • Please report issues or problem areas at pittmeadows.ca/reportaproblem or call 604-465-2434.
  • Property owners are responsible for removing trees or branches on their own property. Don’t forget, small pieces of tree debris can go in your green bin if they aren’t too heavy.
