The Ridge Meadows RCMP

The Ridge Meadows RCMP is contracted through the Provincial government by the City.  A wide range of policing services is provided to increase public safety within the community. In addition to reactive policing by responding to reactive calls for service, the RCMP work pro-actively and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to meet community needs, enhance public safety and prevent crime.

The main hub of operations, Ridge Meadows detachment, is located in Maple Ridge. This is supported by the Pitt Meadows Community Policing Office (CPO), where officers can start and stop their shifts so there is a greater police presence in Pitt Meadows.

What is Community Based Policing?

Community-based policing is a partnership between the police and the community in sharing the delivery of police services.  Ridge Meadows detachment is in a process of transition from reactive traditional policing to proactive community based policing.  It involves the strategy of problem oriented policing ("POPS") and employs various tactics, depending on the problem being addressed.

Services the Community Police Office Provide

The office run by volunteers is supported by an Office Manager and a Station Constable on site to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding policing issues in Pitt Meadows.

The Community Policing Office is a close and convenient place for residents to:

  • Report a crime
  • Obtain a criminal record check
  • Find safety information
  • Get advice or talk to a police officer

The Pitt Meadows Community Police office is located at on Harris Road behind City Hall (12007 Harris Road).
