The City of Pitt Meadows is preparing a Housing Needs Assessment and is seeking community feedback to create a better understanding of the current and future housing needs in the city.

The Housing Needs Assessment will help the City understand the current local housing market landscape including supply and demand, assessed and sale prices, rental vacancy rates, affordability, and more. This will help identify gaps in the housing market and opportunities to fill those needs.

Agricultural Advisory Comittee Focus

The Agricultural Advisory Committee advises Council and Staff on matters related to agriculture in the community which may include comprehensive reviews of agriculture-related policies, plans and development proposals using the City of Pitt Meadows  Official Community Plan as a guide. 

We’re offering a series of free Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) workshops. These workshops will equip citizens with the necessary information so that they can plan ahead and take care of themselves and their neighbours during a catastrophic event. 

Advisory Design Panel Focus

The Advisory Design Panel provides advice and recommendations on development and design matters, taking into consideration the community's unique character and the City's Official Community Plan. The ADP considers and provides recommendations on other projects or applications as referred by Staff and/or Council and assists the City in the formulation of design policies and criteria including urban design guidelines, as required. 

The Engagement & Priorities Committee (EPC) is a committee of the whole of Council which meets several times a year to hear about important upcoming initiatives.

Active Transportation Advisory Committee Focus

The Active Transportation Advisory Committee advises Council and City Staff on strategic priorities and policies relating to active transportation in Pitt Meadows using the Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan  as a guide.

According to the Local Government Act a municipality that has adopted a zoning bylaw must establish a Board of Variance to allow people to request relief from the provisions of that bylaw. A person may apply to the Board for a minor variance if they feel compliance with the bylaw would cause them hardship. The Board of Variance is a quasi-judicial board consisting of three volunteers from the community appointed by Council.

Public Engagement Round 3

From January 7, 2022 to February 4, 2022, CP is seeking your input on the proposed CP Logistics Park: Vancouver. During this third round of consultation, CP is reporting back to the community on the results of the Environmental Effects Evaluation (EEE) and the proposed mitigation approaches, and is seeking the community’s feedback ahead of CP’s application to the Canadian Transportation Agency late this year.

Here’s how you can participate:

License your dog before January 31, 2022 to qualify for a discounted rate. The City of Pitt Meadows requires dogs over six months old to be licensed annually. Apply or renew in person at City Hall or online at mypittmeadows.com.

This free FireSmart Workshop is part of the Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) and introduces homeowners to FireSmart principles which are designed to mitigate a home’s vulnerability to wildfire.

Community Support Select Committee

 On September 22, 2020, Pitt Meadows Council established the Community Support Select Committee (the “Committee”) to provide a platform to strengthen relationships and share information between City Council and community organizations that provide support to Pitt Meadows citizens. The mandate of the Committee is to build relationships and enhance dialogue and information sharing between Council and community organizations that provide social services to Pitt Meadows residents.

The Pitt Meadows Day Advisory Committee provides support to the City with the planning and execution of the annual Pitt Meadows Day event. This signature event provides an opportunity for residents to gather, connect and celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of our City.

The Pitt Meadows Day Advisory Committee proposes to meeting monthly, however they will only proceed with meetings as business needs require.   

It can be really tough going through the hard stuff with a child or youth who is struggling with their mental health and ending up in crisis. FamilySmart, is a non-profit organization that supports caregivers who are supporting a child with mental health concerns, and they want to help you.
