Community Support Select Committee

Pitt Meadows Council established the Community Support Select Committee (CSSC) to provide a platform to strengthen relationships and share information between City Council and community organizations that provide support to Pitt Meadows citizens. 

The Community Support Select Committee proposes to meeting up to three times a year; meetings are scheduled for February, June & October.

Economic Development Advisory Committee - CANCELLED

The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) was formed in 2021 to advise Council and staff on economic development initiatives, tourism promotion and development, and policies and proposals that are relevant to the community's balanced economic prosperity. The Committee will continue the momentum of the 2020 Economic Resiliency Task Force, which was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and represents an expanded mandate of the previously considered Tourism Advisory Committee.

Community Service Awards Task Force

The Community Service Awards Task Force (CSA TF) is an advisory body to the City, responsible for the selection of the annual recipients of the Community Service Awards.

This Task Force reviews all nomination packages, considers applicants against the criteria for each award as established through the  Community Service and Recognition Council Policy (C073), and takes part in the annual celebration where the winners are announced and presented their awards. 

Parks, Recreation, and Culture Advisory Committee

 The Parks, Recreation, and Culture Advisory Committee  proposes to meet four times a year on the third Thursday of the month at 3:00 p.m. and do not have meetings scheduled in the months of July or August.

Advisory Design Panel Focus

The Advisory Design Panel provides advice and recommendations on development and design matters, taking into consideration the community's unique character and the City's Official Community Plan. The ADP considers and provides recommendations on other projects or applications as referred by Staff and/or Council and assists the City in the formulation of design policies and criteria including urban design guidelines, as required. 

CP Holiday Train 2022

The CP Holiday Train is back! It will be coming through Pitt Meadows on December 17 at approximately 8:55pm with musical guests, MacKenzie Porter and Virginia to Vegas. Pitt Meadows is one of the few stops where the entertainment can be viewed from either side of the crossing at Harris Road. For full details visit the CP Rail Holiday Train website.

The plans represent recommendations for key initiatives, budgets, and the Five-Year Financial Plan.

Board of Variance - Cancelled

According to the Local Government Act, a municipality that has adopted a zoning bylaw must establish a Board of Variance to allow people to request relief from the provisions of that bylaw. A person may apply to the Board for a minor variance if they feel compliance with the bylaw would cause them hardship. The Board of Variance is a quasi-judicial board consisting of three volunteers from the community appointed by Council.
