POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager of RCMP Support Services is responsible for overseeing the administrative, logistical, and support functions of the newly established RCMP detachment in Pitt Meadows. They will have the opportunity to support, develop, and coach a newly established team. This position will develop standard operating procedures and ensure smooth operations of this vital community service.

Regular working hours are Monday to Friday with a 37.5 hour workweek, with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends based on operational needs. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Personnel Management

  • Provides strong leadership to a team of support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. 
  • Supports HR functions, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for support staff.

Resource Management

  • Effectively manages budgets, resources, and assets to ensure the detachment operates efficiently and within allocated budgets.
  • Coordinates logistics, equipment, and supplies required for the detachment’s daily operations.
  • Stays up-to-date with technological advancements and ensures the detachment utilizes modern tools and systems effectively.

Policy and Procedure Development

  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines to support the operations of the RCMP detachment.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Records Management

  • Oversees the management of records and information in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Project Management is an asset. This position is required to support the RCMP with logistics, electronic workflow processes, and review of the structural human resource planning.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (I.e., business), criminal justice is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience, preferably in law enforcement or public safety.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Solid knowledge of RCMP operations and procedures
  • Project Management is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an active RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
    • Please note, an active RCMP Security Clearance is required by the start date and the ability to maintain this clearance is a condition of employment.
