What is happening with recreation memberships passes?
Passes will be extended to compensate for the duration of the closure. Pass holders may choose to leave their pass on hold.
What is happening with summer rental bookings?
We have cancelled all bookings for organized groups from now until August 31, 2020. This includes field, park and facility rental bookings. A credit will automatically be processed to customer accounts which can be used towards future bookings, or a refund cheque can be requested. Please be advised that refund cheque requests may take longer than normal to process. As staff may be working remotely, all communication including questions and requests must be sent by email to email@example.com.
When will organized groups be able to book parks and sports fields?
Please view the comprehensive Sports Fields FAQ page for all details on how to book.
When can I book a facility rental?
We are currently processing requests for facility rentals for weddings. However, as City buildings remain closed, all new and rescheduled wedding bookings will be “tentative”. Once our re-opening plans are finalized and we are able to confirm the booking, damage deposits and associated rental fees will be collected. Given the ever-changing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, all rental bookings may be subject to revision or cancellation. Further stipulations to rental bookings may be forthcoming in response to Provincial health guidelines.
All communication including questions and requests must be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rental requests for future bookings of parks, fields and facilities (for events other than weddings) are not being accepted at this time. Once our re-opening plans are finalized, we will begin our facility allocation process for returning groups.
Are playgrounds open?
Playgrounds re-opened on June 1. Residents are reminded to follow the direction of the Province which includes:
- Wash hands before and after play and touching shared surfaces (use hand sanitizer if washroom not available);
- Avoid touching your face;
- Keep a minimum of two metres or six feet away from people from other households; and
- Stay home if you are feeling sick.
Is the spray park open?
Harris Road Park re-opened June 18 and will remain open until September, weather permitting. The Spray Park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Although using the Spray Park is low risk for exposure to COVID-19, there are things you can do to stay safe:
- If you or your child feel sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay at home.
- Physical distancing is recommended for adults: Stay two metres apart.
- Avoid crowded play areas and minimize physical contact between kids.
- Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before and after playing or using the spray park.
- Don’t share toys or equipment with other kids outside of your family.
Parents and caregivers are reminded to be prepared with hand sanitizer, drinking water, and hats, sunscreen or clothing for sun protection. Children must be supervised at all times.
Is Harris Road Outdoor Pool open?
