Pop-Up Art Gallery in City Hall
March 31 to June 25, 2026 – Georges Bois
The next local artist featured is Georges Bois. This woodturner creates functional and sculptural objects from locally sourced hardwoods. Working on the lathe, the artist produces bowls, hollow forms, and other turned pieces that reveal the quiet beauty and character hidden within each grain.
Georges' work will be on display at the Pop-Up Art Gallery in City Hall from March 31 to June 25, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

About the Artist

My relationship with wood began decades ago, when my father first introduced me to the lathe as a teenager. What started as learning a craft became a lifelong conversation with material, form, and time.
I am a proud member of the Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild, where shared knowledge and tradition continue to shape my practice.
As a certified Arborist, my work begins long before the turning starts. I climb trees, study their structure, and gather wood from pruning and removal pieces marked by growth, weather, and history. In the studio, I shape these remnants to reveal the quiet beauty and character hidden within each grain.
I am currently building a wood shop in Maple Ridge, encouraged by my mother and my wife. This evolving space will become a place of deeper exploration, where craft and art meet, and where new forms and stories can emerge from the wood.
