The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring a casual PRIME Records Specialist for our new RCMP detachment. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working in a brand new detachment in a small-town community.
Reporting to the Manager of RCMP Support Services, this position oversees a variety of files and records and monitors for compliance; provides on-going training and oversight of police systems; reviews complex occurrence PRIME files to determine which offences are reportable to Statistics Canada; performs regular audits of the PRIME system, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Master Name Index (MNI), and other ad-hoc audits as needed and carries out routine administrative functions to ensure files and records are properly maintained or archived and acts as the detachment’s resource person and quality control reviewer. This position exercises considerable independent judgement, while referring more complex issues to a superior who also reviews work for conformance and effectiveness. Shifts will be scheduled on a casual, on-call basis to provide coverage for vacations, sick days, and other operational needs. Shifts may be scheduled between Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by PRIME, UCR and CPIC Maintenance courses, plus sound related experience, preferably in an RCMP Detachment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Considerable knowledge of PRIME systems, general police functions, and records management systems.
Sound knowledge of clerical and recordkeeping methods, including archiving requirements and retention schedules.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and to process sensitive information.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance.
- Please note, the ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Security Clearance is required by the start date, and is a condition of employment. If you have an active clearance, please indicate your HRMIS number on your application.
