RECREATION PROGRAM LEADER
(CUPE Auxiliary)
The City of Pitt Meadows is looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to lead and support the various child and youth programs offered by our Recreation and Culture Division. Reporting to the Manager of Recreation and Culture, this position assists staff with providing various after school programs, camps, special events, and other activities for participants. Our ideal candidate will have some knowledge and experience working with leading programs and providing instructions for participants of all ages. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, with open flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday through Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm based on operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Grade 10, plus some relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience assisting or delivery recreational programs for children and youth will be considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for creating welcoming and inclusive experiences for participants.
- Standard First Aid and CPR – Level C or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain a successful vulnerable sector criminal record check.
WHAT WE OFFER
- CUPE Wage Rate - $19.28 per hour (2024 rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits and general holiday pay.
*The City of Pitt Meadows is a Living Wage Employer, therefore the Metro Vancouver Living Wage Amount ($27.85/hr effective May 4, 2026) will be applied to this position. - Free gym membership.
