Azhar Kazi was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India in 1980. His first experience
as a photographer was during his second trip to Banff, Alberta. At the time he
didn’t even own a camera. He treats photography as a “serious” hobby and a way to relax.
The pure natural beauty & the feeling of human insignificance compared to nature is
what influences most of the scenes he captures. Though not formally trained in
photography or post processing, he is self-taught and has learned through by trial & error.
He is influenced by established artists like Paul Ziska, Tim Shields, Ryan Dyar,
Victoria Haack and Cath Simmard.
Friends like Saqib Zulfikar (Instagram: @zulfthewolf), Amir Hariri (Instagram:
@vanexusphotography) and Tristan Todd (@tristan.todd) have greatly influenced
and motivated me to get outside my comfort zone and explore the possibilities.
His work is primarily in digital and print mediums and currently work from
his home in Pitt Meadows, BC.
