PITT MEADOWS, B.C. – The City of Pitt Meadows is launching City Talks, a new monthly email newsletter that will keep the community connected and informed about City news, initiatives, programs and local events. Residents can subscribe now at pittmeadows.ca/newsletter, with the first edition arriving in inboxes in early May 2026.
"City Talks is about making it easier for residents to access the information that matters to them, especially those who may not regularly use channels such as social media,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “This e-newsletter will provide another reliable way for residents to stay informed about what is happening in their community.”
The launch of City Talks follows a recommendation from the City's 2025 Communications Services Review, which identified a direct e-newsletter as a key tool for reaching residents more effectively. The initiative also responds directly to feedback received through the 2025 Communications and Civic Engagement survey, in which residents indicated they would like to receive City news and information via email.
“Launching City Talks reflects our ongoing commitment to transparent, accessible and effective communication,” says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. “This e-newsletter will allow the City to deliver information directly to subscribers, reduce reliance on third-party publication schedules and better understand how residents engage with City communications.”
The City currently communicates with residents through a variety of channels, including its website, social media, newspaper advertising, digital boards and direct mail. City Talks will complement these existing channels and provide another direct way to reach residents.
Residents who prefer not to receive emails can still stay up to date by accessing an archive of all City Talks editions at pittmeadows.ca/newsletter, or by requesting a printed copy at City Hall.
